It was established by Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (Rajasthan), as one of its latest campuses in the year 2008, with the first batch graduating in the year 2012. The sprawling campus is situated amidst lush greenery, spanning over 200 acres of land at Jawahar Nagar, Shameerpet, Hyderabad.

BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus has established state-of-the-art facilities for micro and Nano semiconductor device fabrication and characterisation. The size of the clean room is 581 sq. ft., and 80% of it is maintained as (ISO 6) class 1000, and the rest is class 100 (ISO 5).
