Research

The Department of Biological Sciences is a recipient of the FIST (Fund for Improvement of S&T Infrastructure) grant from the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, for the development of research and teaching infrastructure.

Prof. Ch. Mohan Rao is a distinguished scientist and academic leader with an illustrious career in Biological Sciences. Before joining BITS, he served as Director of the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), CSIR Distinguished Scientist and Sir JC Bose National Fellow, in addition to holding adjunct and visiting professorships at leading institutions across India, Australia, Japan, France and the USA. His contributions to science and leadership in research have earned him recognition as a Fellow of multiple prestigious academies worldwide
