The Birla Institute of Technology & Science, BITS Pilani, is an all-India Institute for higher education. The primary aim of BITS is to "train young men and women able and eager to create and put into action such ideas, methods, techniques, and information". The Institute is a dream come true of its founder, the late Mr G.D. Birla, an eminent industrialist, a participant in the Indian freedom struggle, and a close associate of Mahatma Gandhi.
Vision
BITS’ mission is to advance knowledge and educate students in science, technology, and other areas of scholarship that will best serve the nation and the world in the 21st century. The Institute is committed to generating, disseminating, and preserving knowledge, and to collaborating with others to apply this knowledge to address the world's most pressing challenges. BITS is dedicated to providing its students with an education that combines rigorous academic study with the excitement of discovery, supported by and stimulating to a diverse campus community. We aim to cultivate in each member of the BITS community the ability and passion to work wisely, creatively, and effectively for the betterment of humanity.

The flagship campus has a proud history of over 50 years. It is located just outside the town of Pilani, Rajasthan, the hometown of the Birla family and is also referred to as Vidya Vihar. Set in beautiful wooded pathways and covering an area of 328 acres, the campus is self-contained with all facilities and buildings expected of an institute of international standing. It also features a beautiful library complex with a built-up area of 65,000 sq. ft and a rich collection of over 2,30,000 volumes of books and manuscripts.
Dubai Campus is the offshore campus of BITS Pilani University and is one of the largest engineering institutes in the UAE. It has the distinction of being the first offshore campus of any Indian higher education institution. The Campus was established in 2000 to offer high-quality technical education to students in the UAE and neighbouring countries. While remaining loyal to the core values of the parent institution, the Dubai Campus has achieved great prominence among the region’s educational institutions by adapting to its diverse milieu.
Hyderabad Campus is a 200-acre campus that was founded in 2008. Besides picture-perfect surroundings, the campus provides a fully developed infrastructure with outstanding aesthetics. It has fully equipped, large laboratories, well-furnished rooms, a modern and aesthetically pleasing library, and an air-conditioned auditorium, along with a robust educational infrastructure, all of which make BITS Pilani Hyderabad a fully resourced, self-service, operational campus. Recently, an auditorium with a seating capacity of 2,550 was constructed on this campus and it is probably the best and most sophisticated in the state

This charm and beauty sets the right ambience for BITS, Pilani K K Birla Goa Campus, an Institute of excellence in Technology and Sciences.
MUMBAI campus is home to the three premier institutions under the aegis of BITS Pilani – BITS School of Management (BITSoM), BITS Law School (BITSLAW) and BITS Design School (BITSDES). The digital-first campus features a Centre of Excellence and Academic Buildings that, together, house the library, a startup incubation centre, an event hall, video and podcast studios, classrooms equipped for hybrid teaching, tutorial rooms, and spaces for transdisciplinary learning and collaboration. The fully residential campus has sports facilities, a gymnasium and, of course, the cafeteria.
