Department of Chemical Engineering

The Department of Chemical Engineering is recognised as one of the top Chemical Engineering Departments in the Gulf region. The undergraduate programme, introduced in 2005, has created a highly sought-after and competitive environment for students to cultivate their talents both intellectually and personally. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to upkeep chemical engineering's core principles with specialised industry-oriented domains

With fundamentals, our students get exposure in varied areas: petroleum and petrochemicals, cement, ceramics and glass, polymers and plastics, environmental pollution and corrosion, chemical process technology, plant safety, modelling and simulation, colloids, suspensions and emulsions. The programme also integrates industry standard tools within the core coursework, such as Python, MATLAB, MINITAB, ASPEN HYSYS and PROMAX, to strengthen practical as well as analytical skills.

The department has collaborated in various research-centric projects with top-tier institutions like IIT Guwahati, Shimadzu Middle-East and Africa, Dubai, BITS PILANI, Goa Campus, International Centre for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA), Dubai, Universitè de Toulouse, France, Ocean Corner wastewater treatment and Chemicals LLC, etc., to name a few.
